She didn’t mind too much that she was not being paid what her male peers were being paid. As long as she had the security of a job and health insurance, she was willing to overlook some small injustices. Married to David, who is 33 and is out of work. She has 1 child, though it was a difficult birth. Working because they are living every other month to month. She hadn’t taken a ‘real’ vacation in @ 5 years, when they went to visit David’s family in Montreal.
Carol was scared to go forward as she didn’t think she was good enough to get another job that gave her the same flexibility and understanding as well as the health insurance she has for herself and her family.
She worked, moonlighting, working on a couple of weekend projects with David. There were some struggles in the relationship in those situations. Going through the program, she realized she could be doing so much more as a freelance IT consultant, and much of taking the plunge was getting out of her own way, understanding her strengths, her weaknesses, and her real reason for working. What was her WHY for what she was doing in her life? Her most important things in life started with Michelle, her 3-year-old, and David her life partner.
Within a few weeks, she got clear that this was the fuel she needed to get up and get things done because no one else was going to take care of Michelle like she was. As well as support David in his challenging work circumstances as well! She is at the point of consistently making more freelancing than her ‘9 to 5’ job while working a fraction of the hours!
“Many times, the person that is the most difficult to overcome is yourself! I highly recommend getting the program and getting OUT of your negative thoughts.” - Carol S.

Had been working for over 10 years in the hospital and had been in the same position for over 5 years. Didn’t like the hours as he would have to go in all sorts of different times to take care of ‘extra’ things from his regular hour's work. He put up with it because he wanted to get the pay raise that came with becoming a Maintenance chief. He still doesn’t see a promotion in his future because he’s been passed over with someone with more seniority than him. After a few missed birthdays of the two oldest boys and then it happened with the youngest of the family, his lovely 2-year-old girl, he wanted to quit. How would the financial picture work out with only his wife working part-time? Could he pick up a new job at his age? AND make the same or more than what he has been making now? Would anyone want to hire him?
He had been doing odd jobs here and there for some extra cash because he is a good worker, and people would look for him to do repair jobs for them. He could get things done efficiently because of his extensive experience at the hospital.
He started his side business of handyman that took was @ 2 years with it just floundering with the occasional ‘big’ job. With the program, he could make that side business a steady source of income and had the confidence to say ‘no’ to the ‘extra’ things that would come up and the maintenance chief would ask him to do. At first, he was so afraid when he said no. After the ‘chief’ saw that he was serious, he only asked a couple of times more to test him out and then didn’t ask him again. He is on track to completely take the plunge to get his business up and to go full time and get his brother-in-law to work for him as a subcontractor.
“Couldn’t have gotten here without your support and direction to get a steady flow of clients.
Thanks, Joe!” - Frank N.

Worked at a production company for many years and was laid off around the time COVID started. Because of his extensive experience, he thought he could easily get a similar paying job. Not so. He could get a job, but because of the tough job market, in his particular niche, he couldn’t get a job that paid him the same. He got a lot of personal and Zoom interviews and condolences but no serious job offers. He was taking it easy because of the pandemic payments and some savings he had.
Though it was getting close to crunch time to get another job, he took the plunge when he discussed this program to start his own business in technology.
He is now working as a subcontractor within his state as well as out-of-state clients who are just asking for an available opening in his schedule. They pay for his airfare, per diem, and hotel to get him for at least a week to two. He is making almost as much in a month as he made in 6 months at the production company. He’s happy to have taken the plunge and started his own business because he’s in charge of how much he makes now and how many clients he takes on and how much time he can spend with his clients!
